Where Is the Live Music Scene on Topsail Island?
For its size, the Topsail area punches well above its weight. Across the island and the nearby mainland you'll find live performers most nights, plus a deep bench of karaoke, music bingo & trivia, and DJ & dance nights. Surf City is the hub, but some of the busiest rooms are just off-island in Holly Ridge and Sneads Ferry.
Surf City
The heart of the scene. The Trailer Bar is one of the most active live-music rooms in the area — an outdoor, casual spot with bands several nights a week and line-dance nights on the deck. unWINEd is the go-to wine-bar setting for solo acts and duos. Down on the water, JM's On The Water and Just Mike's At JM's Place both book regular music, and Surf City Line, Sears Landing and The Sea Witch Lounge round out the options.
Holly Ridge & Sneads Ferry (just off the island)
Gilligan's in Holly Ridge is one of the single busiest entertainment venues in the whole area — live music plus a heavy weekly schedule of karaoke (Fridays and Saturdays) and music bingo. In Sneads Ferry, the two breweries carry the load: Voodoo Brewing and Topsail Island Brewing both run regular live music and weekly music bingo.
Topsail Beach & North Topsail Beach
At the south end, Beach Shop & Grill in Topsail Beach hosts frequent shows on its patio, and the Breezeway Restaurant books music through the season. Up north, Beach Bum's Pizza Bar & Grill is the anchor, with live acts plus weekly karaoke and music bingo.
A few of the area's busiest rooms — Loreleis Pub & Grill, Eventide, Captain Mike's Tavern & Beer Garden, High Tides & Good Vibes and the Starlite Saloon — aren't yet claimed in our directory, but they appear throughout the live calendar.
